We often get asked what is the best way to get started.  Without a shadow of a doubt a private session will give you the most comprehensive beginning simply because it’s individual and all our attention is for solely you for that time period.  We are able to answer your personal questions and concerns while addressing individual physical needs too.  That doesn’t mean you can’t get a good start in a class situation especially as we keep our classes small but nothing can beat a one on one.

Cost concern
If you are concerned about money – think of it as an investment. You will save yourself a lot of time and money by investing in private sessions at the beginning of your Pilates journey. Pilates is an in depth discipline with it’s own unique language, verbally and physically.  We want you to learn about Pilates but also about your own body; your habits, your posture, your strengths and imbalances. Working with us on an individual basis allows us to fast forward a lot of this information – although it will still take lots of practise – you will develop your understanding much quicker, your body will learn the language quicker.  This in turn then means you’ll get much more out of your classes.  You can run some private sessions alongside your classes or just occasionally to recap.  You can always have shorter 30 minute sessions too or even share with a friend.

Motivation and performance
There is no hiding in a private session and so motivation to get the very most out of your body is high.  We are able to see only you too so we can work on your form.  We all know that being held accountable for that whole session with great form is going to lead to quicker and greater progress.  If you want a boost or are in a hurry for a certain date, private sessions can excel your progress.

Injuries and Rehab
Private sessions are a must if you’re recovering or injured. You don’t have to sit on the couch for 6 months.  Obviously with your GP consent we can help you restore your fitness, working around and with injuries.  If you have a particular issue, please get in touch to discuss and see if we can help.
